Welcome to GRAFIX51

Based in Seattle, I use this site as an evolving portfolio of my current projects and photographic interests.

That small Brownie Kodak—my first camera—reminds me of a lifelong fascination with photography and all things mechanical. I grew up in the 1960s, starting with an old 35mmSLR and 4×5 view cameras, and now work primarily in digital. The camera changes - The eye does not!

I am drawn to the history behind events, the character of a place, and the stories embedded in a particular time and landscape. Through contrast, color, shape, and form, I seek to document moments and places that, like everything else, slowly fade with time.
